Hull Comedy Festival and First Hull Trains are delighted to be teaming up for the second year running to bring comedian Keith Chegwin to the city, helping to raise vital funds for three charities.
The festival - which is expected to feature 30 to 40 events this year and takes place between Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, November 7th - will feature a Charity Extravaganza night on Friday, October 30th when Chegwin will take to the stage of the Royal Hotel, in Ferensway, city centre, again.
The success of his appearance at last year's event helped raise £1,200 for the charities last year David Townend and the Hull Trains team are hoping to raise even more money for Dove House Hospice, Viking FM's Cash for Kids and Save the Children this year.
Cheggers can't wait to get back to Hull and said he found the audience here to be one of the most welcoming of all. Tickets for the Charity Extravaganza, which starts at 7.30pm on the night and includes a three course dinner, cost £35 each and there are 180 tickets on sale.
The evening will see a series of challenges and activities being run by each of the charities, something that proved hugely popular with fun-loving guests at last year's event, in order to drum up even more funds.
David Townend, First Hull Trains' sales and marketing manager, said: "Last year was a huge success and now we want to build on that even further. Everyone at Hull Trains is really pleased to be involved with the festival again and more importantly to be raising money for such worthy charities. The feedback from last year's event was excellent and we're really pleased to be welcoming Cheggers back this year."
During the run-up to the event First Hull Trains will promote the comedy festival on-board its trains and in the pages of on-board publication The Pioneer.
Plans for the rest of the events being held during Hull Comedy Festival, which is organised by eskimosoup, are still being finalised and an official announcement of the line-up is expected in two weeks.
In the meantime, people who want to get their hands on tickets to the Charity Extravaganza should call Katie on (01482) 223866 or e-mail katie@eskimosoup.co.uk
