It's more than just promotional waffle when we say that so far this year's festival has been the best yet. There have been so many highlights, record high audience figures and terrific performances from many newcomers to comedy.

Hull Comedy Festival had a successful opening weekend with Brendon Burns, Alistair McGowan and Colin Murray presenting shows. It was however, the Comedy Festival Special shows of regular clubs, Burlesque Trifle, We’re Havin’ a Larf and Cuda Comedy that really thrived with all three clubs citing top class shows and record high audience numbers.
